MY INSPIRATION

Allama Delwar Hossain Sayeedi Rh.

Allama Delwar Hossain Sayeedi is a prominent Islamic scholar and politician from Bangladesh. Born on May 12, 1940, in Barishal district, Bangladesh, he has played significant roles both as a religious leader and as a public figure.  Sayeedi studied at various Islamic institutions and earned degrees in Islamic studies. He gained popularity for his powerful speeches and sermons, which attracted a large following among conservative Muslims in Bangladesh. His interpretations of Islamic teachings and advocacy for Islamic principles have influenced many.  In addition to his religious activities, Allama Sayeedi became involved in politics as a member of the Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh party. He served as a Member of Parliament and held various leadership positions within the party.  In 2013, he was found guilty by the International Criminal Tribunal for Bangladesh for war crimes committed during the country's liberation war in 1971 in a perjury case filed against him by the Bangladesh government and sentenced to death. But the people of Bangladesh went against the court verdict and protested on the streets for it and many people took martyrdom. Later the government was forced to change Fasi's verdict.  Allama Delwar Hossain Sayeedi remains a polarizing figure in Bangladesh.
